Steve R. Shelton, CPA, MBA

Steve Shelton is a seasoned financial executive with over 19 years of experience driving strategic growth and operational excellence in healthcare organizations. As Chief Financial Officer at Transitions LifeCare, he leads finance, billing, IT, and facilities, where he has successfully guided the organization from a significant financial loss to profitability through targeted efficiency initiatives and workforce restructuring.

Prior to joining Transitions LifeCare, Steve served as CFO at Advance Community Health, where he oversaw a transformative period of growth, increasing revenue by 80% and securing critical funding for infrastructure improvements. His earlier roles include Director of Finance at Wake Emergency Physicians PA, where he played a key role in expanding clinical operations and launching innovative service lines.

Steve began his career in public accounting, where he developed a strong foundation in audit, compliance, and financial reporting.  He holds an MBA from Elon University and a BA in Psychology from the University of South Carolina. He is a licensed CPA in North Carolina and a Certified Healthcare Finance Professional (CHFP). He is an active member of AICPA, NCACPA and HFMA.
